oops...

So remember my last post when I said there was nothing going on? Well that was definitely not the case these past three weeks. I don't know where the time went!

I'll start from the beginning...

16 weeks

Jake and I spent the weekend in Seattle for Joe and Megan's wedding. It was an action packed weekend and the weather actually cooperated for it being Seattle. On Friday we spent most of the day doing touristy things around downtown. Emily, our own personal tour guide showed us all of the hot spots :) 

We hit the Pike Place Market, saw the disgusting gum wall shown above, and rode the ferris wheel. Not to mention all of the food...

On Saturday we took the ferry over to Silverdale, Wa which was about thirty minutes from the location of the wedding. As you can see our 16 week picture was taken on the day of the wedding. As you can also see my belly is huge!

I'm pretty sure it popped out as soon as I got to Seattle...unless it was all the food I ate since I arrived. At the last minute the ceremony was changed to outdoor since the weather was cooperating, so we took advantage of the scenery for some photo ops.

17 weeks

I missed a belly pic for 17 weeks because we were too distracted by our recent exciting news...it's a BOY!!! We snuck in early to get a peek prior to our 20 week appointment, and needless to say we're really excited. Of course we would have been excited about either gender but we both reeeaaally wanted a boy. And yes, we already named our little guy.

I guess whenever I pictured a baby in there I just pictured the textbook baby facing up. Apparently our little guy likes to be face down with his arms up by his head. 

18 weeks

lazy...

There's been a ton of nothing going on around here so I opted for the lazy route, a combined 14/15 week chalkboard. And I must confess...as of today I'm 16 weeks. I'm such a blog loser! I can't believe my first chalkboard was eight weeks ago, so you'd think I'd be getting better at this.
I'm trying :)

Anyway, hello second trimester!! Time needs to slow down a little. Before I know it I'll be sitting in the hospital soaking up my last few moments before my life takes a turn for crazy. In these past two weeks the babe went from this

Fun Facts:
The baby's ear bones are forming and can now be startled by sounds. He/she is approximately four to five inches in length and weighs around three ounces. With it's eyebrows and eyelashes complete, this little one doesn't have a chance when it comes to hair. Apparently I came out looking like a little monkey and we all know how hairy dad is :)

So the big event of the past two weeks is that Jake has officially given up his office/man cave. Poor guy went from an entire room to himself to the corner of the guest room. What a good dad :) So the organization and painting begin in the next few weeks. Our big ultrasound is just a month away but I'm going to try and sneak in a little early to get a peek. The perks of medical imaging!

On Thursday I'll be meeting up with the hubby and flying into Seattle for Joe and Megan's wedding. That's right...there's going to be another Megan Blanchard in the family. It's a good thing we don't have the same middle name! But there will be many pictures and a 16 week update upon my return. Until then my four avid readers!
